Функция, которая предусмотрена для того, чтобы:
- предотвращать возникающие и уменьшать существующие для оператора опасности, повреждения машин или обрабатываемых деталей;
- быть вызванной одним единственным действием оператора в тех случаях, когда функция нормального останова не может быть использована.
Опасности, рассматриваемые в настоящем стандарте, - те опасности, которые могут являться результатом:
- функциональных нарушений (неправильное функционирование машины, недопустимые свойства обрабатываемых материалов, ошибки оператора);
- нормальной эксплуатации.
Примечание - Функции, такие как реверсирование или ограничение движения, отклонение, экранирование, торможение, разъединение, могут быть частью функции аварийного останова. В настоящем стандарте эти функции не рассматривают.

аварийная остановка
Функция машины, предназначенная для предотвращения возникновения опасности или уменьшения существующей опасности для людей, предотвращения поломки машины или обеспечения продолжения работы.
Аварийная остановка должна осуществляться единичным воздействием оператора.
Примечание -Подробное описание требований, предъявляемых к аварийной остановке, приведено в ИСО 13850.
