Прилагательное решительный имеет несколько эквивалентов в английском языке: decided, determined, resolute и (редко) decisive. Decided (о людях, их характере, поступках, поведении) имеет значение 'смелый, не останавливающийся перед трудностями, не знающий колебаний' и может взаимозаменяться с determined и resolute: решительный человек – decided person, determined person и resolute person; решительный характер – decided character, determined character и resolute character. Decided в сочетании с существительными, обозначающими явления, означает 'несомненный, явный, неоспоримый': решительный успех – decided success.
