Ценная бумага, подтверждающая безусловное денежное обязательство должника (векселедателя) уплатить в установленный срок указанную сумму денег владельцу В. (векселедержателю). В зависимости от характера обращения различают вексель простой и переводной. Простой В. содержит простое и ничем не обусловленное обязательство векселедателя о его оплате владельцу В.в указанный срок; простой В. не может быть переведен на третье лицо. Переводной В. может содержать письменный приказ его держателя, адресованный векселедателю, об уплате указанной суммы денег третьему лицу.
