1 -to participate o to attend?-
Nota d'usoI verbi to participate e to attend si possono tradurre entrambi con “partecipare”, ma possiedono una sfumatura diversa di significato. To participate (+ in) indica una partecipazione attiva: They welcomed the opportunity to participate fully in the life of the school, furono felici dell'opportunità di partecipare pienamente alla vita scolastica, mentre to attend indica semplicemente la presenza in un determinato luogo: They decided not to attend the conference, decisero di non partecipare alla conferenza.
